Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated Industrial Engineering Intern to join our team. This role offers hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment, providing exposure to process optimization, lean manufacturing principles, and industrial engineering best practices. The intern will work closely with our engineering and operations teams to improve production efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance workplace safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze and optimize the manufacturing workflow, layout, and process for a lighting product.
- Assist in time studies, capacity planning, and productivity improvements.
- Support the implementation of Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collect and analyze data to identify areas for operational enhancements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and supply chain.
- Assist in developing work instructions and standard operating procedures.
- Present findings and recommendations to leadership.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Currently in year 3 or higher of pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and process improvement methodologies is a plus.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with AutoCAD or simulation software is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
