Luminator Technology Group is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead the development and convergence of our next-generation Management Software platform within the Luminator Suite, supporting smart displays, control units, and real‑time passenger information systems for the transit industry.

Luminator Technology Group is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead the development and convergence of our next-generation Management Software platform within the Luminator Suite, supporting smart displays, control units, and real‑time passenger information systems for the transit industry.

This role guides a multidisciplinary engineering team (10+) to deliver intelligent, scalable, cloud-enabled solutions that empower transit operators with reliable, real-time information and streamlined system management.
Responsibilities:
Leadership & Talent Development
- Lead, mentor, and inspire backend, frontend, and DevOps engineers, fostering a collaborative, positive, and high‑performance engineering culture.
- Develop engineering talent through coaching, skill‑gap identification, and ongoing technical and professional growth opportunities.
- Define and drive the technical vision and architectural roadmap for the convergence of multiple legacy systems into the unified Luminator Suite.
- Establish and maintain engineering best practices, cloud‑native architectures (Azure preferred), and event-driven microservices patterns.
- Make full‑stack and infrastructure technical decisions, including build‑vs‑buy, scalability, interoperability, and maintainability considerations.
- Oversee engineering planning, prioritization, execution, and delivery of high-quality software releases.
- Ensure software reliability, system performance, and maintainability across distributed, cloud-enabled environments.
- Partner closely with Product Management to refine requirements, contribute to solution design, and align technical execution with business needs.
- Collaborate deeply with Customer Success to:
- Ensure customer-reported issues are triaged, prioritized, and resolved in a timely manner.
- Provide engineering insights that support root-cause analysis and long-term product improvements.
- Participate in defining customer solutions, integration approaches, and deployment patterns.
- Coordinate with global engineering, hardware, and firmware teams to support coherent system-level behaviors and end-to-end product quality.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or equivalent.
- 10+ years of software development experience, including leadership roles required.
- 5+ years of direct team management experience.
- Expertise in C#, .NET, object-oriented design, and enterprise grade software engineering. ‑oriented design, and enterprise‑grade software engineering.
- Strong experience with SQL relational databases.
- Knowledge of transport/network protocols such as MQTT, HTTPS.
- Experience with web technologies including JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS.
- Hands-on experience with cloud environments (Azure preferred) and event-driven microservices architectures.
- Experience implementing DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing environments.
- Experience leading global engineering teams.
- Experience building IoT applications or transportation industry products.
- Experience integrating with embedded device software (IoT devices).
- Experience building or scaling AI/ML applications for enterprise/B2B markets.
