Operations Manager-Rail
Position Summary
Luminator Technology Group is seeking an experienced Rail Operations Manager to lead and streamline the planning, manufacturing, assembly, and logistics for our rail products. In this role, you’ll drive operational efficiency across production, supply chain, and quality assurance, ensuring our processes meet rigorous customer demands and regulatory standards. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver on operational KPIs, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and ensure customer satisfaction through proactive communication and timely delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Leadership: Manage daily manufacturing and assembly, ensuring efficient, safe, and aligned production.
- Process Improvement: Implement lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques to boost productivity and reduce waste.
- Resource Management: Oversee labor, materials, and equipment, aligning resources to production goals within budget.
- Quality Control: Maintain high standards in line with industry requirements by partnering with Quality Assurance.
- Supply Chain Coordination: Work with supply chain teams to ensure timely material availability and manage inventory.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and lead initiatives to create a safe, compliant workplace.
- Customer Focus: Ensure on-time delivery and quality, addressing concerns related to delays or specifications.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.
- Experience: 5+ years in manufacturing operations within regulated industries required. Experience with electronics manufacturing preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems (e.g., Syteline).
- Certifications: Lean Six Sigma preferred.
Skills & Competencies:
- Leadership: Demonstrated management experience in complex manufacturing or technology environments.
- Problem-Solving: Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills for complex projects.
- Lean Manufacturing: Proven experience in lean tools like Kaizen, 5S, and Kanban.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively in a matrixed, cross-functional setting.
- Flexibility: Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to obtain a valid passport within three months for international travel.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds as needed; frequent use of hands and arms in a fast-paced setting.
- Ability to work on-site at our Plano, Texas location.
- Ability to perform work on a computer for extended periods.
- Vision abilities required: close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Regularly required to walk, sit, bend, twist, stand, and reach in a manufacturing and normal office environment.
