Luminator Technology group is looking for a Software Engineering Manager for Management Software to control stationary smart displays in the transit industry (for example at train stations, bus stops, airports). You will lead a team that is chartered with designing and developing the Information Systems that empower transit operators with efficient, flexible and intelligent real time stationary solutions that connect transit passengers to vital information. Other work for the team includes development of our real-time information systems that use GPS and various data feeds to track exact position and predict arrival times of vehicles.

About the Role:
As a Software Engineering Manager, you will lead and inspire our team of backend and frontend engineers, and DevOps specialists working on our Management Software for Transit. Your role is critical in driving technical excellence, fostering collaboration, and ensuring successful product delivery.

Responsibilities:
  • Team Leadership: Lead, inspire, and mentor a team of engineers, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Technical Strategy: Define and communicate the technical vision and roadmap for the team, driving innovation and excellence.
  • Project Delivery: Oversee project planning, execution, and delivery to ensure timely and high-quality releases.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, customer success teams, and stakeholders to align technical initiatives with business objectives.
  • Talent Development: Identify skill gaps, provide training opportunities, and encourage continuous learning and growth within the team.

Required Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science/engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience: 10+ years of software development experience, including leadership roles.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in:
      • Software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, etc.)
      • Team management and performance evaluation.
      • Full stack technical decision-making, build vs buy decisions.
    • Experience with:
      • Object oriented programming languages: Go, C#
      • Relational (SQL) and non-relational (NoSQL) database technologies
      • Transport protocols such as SFTP, HTTPS and networking technologies.
      • Web technologies, such as JavaScript, CSS, HTML5
      • Experience in cloud environments, event driven microservices architectures including Docker, Kubernetes
      • Implementing DevOps tools and practices
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with:
    • Managing global engineering teams
    • Building IoT applications and/or products for transportation industry
    • Integrating software embedded on devices (such as IoT devices)
    • Building and scaling AI/ML applications for B2B market
