Luminator is seeking a highly capable Product Manager – MVS Software to lead the full product lifecycle and ensure the commercial success of our Mobile Video Surveillance (MVS) software portfolio. This role is critical to maintaining the seamless integration of our software solutions with Luminator’s mobile video hardware and ensuring they meet the rigorous operational demands of public transit environments. Working closely with cross‑functional teams, you will help guide products that play an essential role in safety, reliability, and performance across transit systems. This position offers the flexibility of a fully remote schedule.

What You’ll Do:
  • Product Strategy & Vision: Define and communicate a competitive product vision, strategy, and 12–18-month roadmap. Use market trends, customer insights, and industry analysis to guide strategic investment and prioritization.
  • Requirements Gathering: Conduct market research and collect customer feedback to uncover needs and workflows. Translate insights into clear, actionable requirements aligned with Sales and Engineering.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Partner with Engineering, Sales, Regional Management, and executives to coordinate the full product lifecycle and maintain an agile, aligned working environment.
  • Product Development Guidance: Guide end‑to‑end development, from ideation through release and training. Oversee backlog health, release goals, timelines, quality, and cross‑team dependencies.
  • User Experience (UX): Champion user‑centered design and ensure software and hardware integrations deliver intuitive, high‑quality experiences. Collaborate with Sales and Marketing on workflow and interface design.
  • Competitive Analysis: Perform ongoing competitive and industry assessments to identify threats, opportunities, and areas for differentiation. Apply findings to refine product strategy.
  • Go‑to‑Market (GTM) Strategy: Develop GTM plans including positioning, pricing, packaging, and sales/marketing enablement. Lead launch execution and measure post‑launch adoption and engagement.
  • Product Lifecycle Management: Manage products from launch through end‑of‑life, making data‑informed decisions on enhancements, upgrades, and retirement.
  • Product Delivery Alignment: Coordinate with Program/Delivery teams to ensure product releases align with sales commitments and customer deployment timelines.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

KNOWLEDGE
  • Sales and Marketing — Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems.
  • Computers and Electronics — Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
  • Customer and Personal Service — Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Communications and Media — Knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods. This includes alternative ways to inform and entertain via written, oral, and visual media.

Education Requirement: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 10 plus years of direct experience in lieu of bachelor’s could be acceptable.
  • Master’s degree in software engineering or similar software discipline preferred.

Technical Experience:  
  • Prior experience with Infor SyteLine, Infor LN, and/or Dassault 3DExperience.
  • Domain expertise in mobile video surveillance, public transportation technology, or related vehicle IoT software systems is highly desirable.
  • Experience with qualitative research tools and Figma.
  • Prior experience with Salesforce or other CRM software.
  • Prior experience working with transit agencies or on products for fleet vehicles provides important insight into industry-specific challenges and user needs.
  • Familiarity with product analytics and data visualization tools.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including but not limited to Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint.
  • Demonstrated success in enterprise software product development, preferably Microsoft Azure; AWS/GCP acceptable).

Other Requirements:
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for positioning, promoting, and selling SaaS within the transit industry (Bus, LRV, Tram, and Heavy Rail) required.
  • Understanding of Enterprise SaaS/PaaS Development & IoT Deployment Principles and quick to grasp new technical concepts related to cameras, sensors, networking equipment, and can translate technical details into business implications.
  • Familiarity with video surveillance and associated technologies, including video encoding & storage, AI-based analytics, cellular connectivity, and third-party integrations.
  • Proven ability to develop pricing and packaging models for software products, build sound business cases, and plan successful product launches.
  • Practical knowledge of communication methods, protocols, and options (wired, wireless, TCP/IP).
  • Experience with product management tools, such as Azure DevOps, Jira, or Confluence.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and launching innovative products from concept to market.
  • Ability to interpret usage data, reliability statistics, and support metrics using Power BI or Azure Application Insights.
  • Data-driven and iterative mindset with experience using product metrics to guide decision-making, including OKRs and/or KPIs.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously in multiple time zones.
  • Familiarity with user experience design principles and market research techniques.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and cybersecurity compliance requirements in global environments (NA, EMEA, APAC, LATAM), for software products.
  • A strategic mindset with a passion for staying up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; experience in effectively communicating key data, including presentations to senior management, Board members, Committee members or other outside partners.
