Position: Staff Accountant
Location: Plano, TX (on-site)

Role Overview: Luminator is seeking a full-time Staff Accountant to join our dynamic Finance and Accounting team. As an integral part of the team, you will provide valuable input as we work towards assessing and implementing the goals and mission of the department and Luminator. The successful candidate will be part of a team working to expand a strong and proven concept with solid growth potential, creating substantial shareholder value.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing process, ensuring transactions comply with US GAAP and internal policies.
  • Prepare general ledger entries by maintaining records and files.
  • Review and process journal entries with adequate supporting documentation.
  • Prepare and review reconciliations by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system, other departments, and external sources.
  • Complete analysis of general ledger account fluctuations.
  • Draft reporting packages for the Business Units.
  • Interpret the meaning of accounting records, reports, and statements.
  • Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
  • Provide audit support, including audit work papers and responding to audit inquiries.
  • Assist with internal control testing and documentation in compliance with internal SOX controls.
  • Implement and follow current accounting procedures.
  • Assist with internal and external audits.
  • Review contracts, revenue recognition, and cost accounting procedures in compliance with ASC 606.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in accounting, finance, or business administration.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline. MBA or advanced degree in Finance preferred.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, financial markets, banking, and the analysis and reporting of financial data.
  • Knowledge of administrative and office procedures and systems.
  • Ability to identify complex problems and develop and evaluate options to implement solutions.
  • Strong logic and reasoning skills to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions.
  • Ability to understand written sentences and paragraphs in work-related documents.
  • Ability to determine how money will be spent to get the work done and account for these expenditures.
  • Proficiency in advanced knowledge of MS Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, organization, and presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; experience in effectively communicating key data, including presentations to senior management, Board members, Committee members, or other outside partners.
  • Solid analytical and time management skills.
