Luminator is seeking to fill our full-time Director of Global Tax role to join our growing and dynamic Finance team where you will be an integral part of the team by providing valuable input as we work toward assessing and implementing goals and mission of the department and Luminator.

The Director of Global Tax will be responsible for managing all tax related aspects of the business, including but not limited to global and domestic direct and indirect tax reporting and compliance filings for the Company and is a crucial part of the Finance organization. Additionally, this role will serve as a key tax accounting management resource within the Company and is responsible for coordinating with external third-party tax advisors on the preparation of the corporate income tax provision as well as corporate direct tax returns and overseeing a variety of technical tax and related accounting matters affecting the Company. This position will work across the CFO organization including Accounting & Consolidations, Treasury, FP&A and IT as well as throughout the organization including Legal, Human Resources, Business partners and Private Equity owners.

  • Manage the global tax accounting and compliance requirements.
  • Manage transfer pricing planning and studies.
  • Oversee preparation of worldwide transfer pricing documentation, including master file,local files, and country by country reporting
  • Manage global tax structuring/restructuring and entity rationalization.
  • Leads global tax accounting functions including managing and review of quarterly and yearend ASC 740 calculations and related accounting work papers for US federal, state and international tax provisions and projections inclusive of data requests prepared by external tax advisors to financial reporting and local accounting teams and coordinating annual audit and quarterly reviews with external auditors.
  • Establish and implement tax policy and manage internal controls over income taxes.
  • Manage any federal, state, local, or non-US tax authority audits.
  • Manage correspondence with taxing authorities.
  • Manage and review the preparation of accurate, and timely filings of, federal, state, local taxes, other statutory income tax returns, and related filings for the corporation.
  • Establish strategies to minimize tax expense and mitigate tax risk exposures with regard to taxes paid including federal, state, and non-US income taxes, property taxes, sales and use taxes, and VAT.
  • Generate and/or compile supporting documentation for tax returns.
  • Oversee external advisors and/or local accounting teams that will assist in preparation of local tax returns and provisions, to the extent applicable.
  • Perform tax research on an as needed basis with respect to federal, state, and local country income tax, payroll tax, and property tax.
  • Work on tax planning projects.
  • Maintain the tax compliance calendar including original due dates, estimated tax payments, extension requests, annual reports and other miscellaneous filings.
  • Collaborate with internal and external tax advisors, legal counsel, treasury, and other business partners to support required external reporting filings.
  • Coordinate with international businesses and their statutory filings, liaise with key areas in finance for impacts on external reporting, and communicate financial results and updates to key stakeholders within the organization.
  • Work closely with FP&A to provide tax rates and tax payments for budgets and forecasts.
  • Advise top management of the impact of new tax laws and proposed legislation.
  • Pursues refunds, credits and incentives as the Company moves into new markets or new locations to maximize tax benefits to the Company.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or finance or equivalent work experience. Masters in
Taxation preferred.

Experience: 10+ years of recent experience in accounting and corporate and/or public accounting
firm tax department. 3+ years of demonstrated experience with income tax responsibilities with a
global US company or supporting a global US company. Experience in global tax structuring / restructuring projects. Experience in transfer pricing and intercompany structures.

Computer Skills: Proficiency with MS Office suite of products as well as tax preparation, compliance & research software. Experienced in tax technology toolsets (open to new technology).

Certificates & Licenses: Active CPA designation or equivalent certification.

Other Requirements:
  • Highly detail oriented in the application of financial accounting and tax reporting concepts ensuring financial and regulatory compliance with various financial reporting and income tax deadlines.
  • Thorough knowledge of US GAAP required disclosures related to income taxes; current with new technical accounting standards, including the application of Tax Accounting requirements (ASC 740).
  • Technical Knowledge of tax laws is necessary and the ability to identify, research and resolve issues is critical to the success of this position.
  • Keep informed and actively monitor income and related tax accounting standards and tax law development that may impact the business’ financial reporting and disclosures and leads the business on implementing the necessary changes.
  • Strong command of U.S. federal tax, international tax systems and OECD positions relating to cross border service arrangements and related compliance needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify potential tax issues and exposures, establish an effective mitigation plan and influence senior management regarding risks and exposures.
  • Strong communication skills.
