Luminator is seeking to fill our full-time Field Service Technician role to join our growing and dynamic Field Operations team where you will be an integral part of the team by providing valuable input as we work toward assessing and implementing goals and mission of the department and Luminator.

The successful Field Service Technician candidate will be part of a team working to expand a strong and proven concept that has solid growth potential, with the opportunity to create substantial shareholder value. You will be responsible for conducting customer service visits, documentation, day-to-day repair, and preventative maintenance for various transit agencies and clients. You will identify and resolve equipment malfunctions, work with manufacturers, or field personnel as necessary to procure replacement parts.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The successful candidate will have the ability to challenge the organization effectively, resolve problems, and willing to provide a hands-on approach in finding solutions.   • Travel to customer sites to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain Luminator products and systems.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure optimal performance of equipment.
  • Diagnose technical issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to escalate complex issues and provide feedback for product improvement.
  • Keep accurate records of service activities, including maintenance logs, service reports, and inventory management.
  • Provide on-site training to customers on the operation and maintenance of Luminator products and systems.
  • Adhere to company safety protocols and procedures while working in various environments.
  • Communicate effectively with customers to understand their needs, address concerns, and provide technical support.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in field service operations.
  • Represent the company professionally and maintain a positive relationship with customers at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The Field Service Technician will be an experienced, operationally oriented professional who can successfully lead as a very hands-on Field Service Technician to scale for additional growth and maximize potential.

This professional will possess:
 

  • At least 2 - 4 years technical experience required.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree and A+ certification preferred. 
  • Proven experience as a field service technician or similar role.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and electronic systems.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and work in various outdoor conditions.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends if necessary.
  • Knowledge of MathWorks, Autodesk AutoCAD, Microsoft Visual Basic, and SCADA software.
  • Familiarity with automotive wiring – DC, low voltage, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and understand schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Expertise with electrical systems, use of voltmeter and other tools
  • Skilled in testing and recording voltages
  • Skilled in using small tools or hand tools
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; Prior experience with ERP environments and planning in database tools preferred.
