POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Strategic Sourcing Buyer is responsible for developing and deploying strategic sourcing initiatives and policies to support profit margin expansion through material cost reduction, risk and supplier relationship management goals, and supplier rationalization.

Essential Functions:
  • Develop detailed spend analysis.
  • Identify strategic issues and risks, and develop supporting plans / tactics with strong analytics.
  • Identify and deploy cost-management strategies engaging suppliers and customers.
  • Develop should-cost analysis and conduct cost negotiations with suppliers.
  • Conduct contract negotiations with key suppliers, including costs and terms of supply, service, and quality.
  • Estimate risks and apply risk-minimizing techniques, as well as negotiating contracts that comply with industry regulations.
  • Maintain strategic sourcing relationships and develop strong partnerships.
  • Analyze and calculate procurement costs and develop cost reduction strategies.
  • Perform cost and scenario analyses, and benchmarking.
  • Prepare supplier risk assessments including capacity analysis & rate readiness assessments for key/critical suppliers.
  • Deliver initiatives including savings and “total cost of ownership” targets and goals.
  • Utilize data to analyze results and quantify savings.
  • Develop the sourcing and procurement strategies for the Aerospace department, aligning with corporate goals and objectives.
  • Partner with stakeholders to effectively leverage scale, simplify the supplier base, reduce total cost of ownership, and improve cost and customer On-Time delivery.
  • Act as a financial steward, spearhead and manage projects to reduce total cost of ownership while meeting financial business goals and objectives (e.g., costs, service, quality, policies, supply & risk mitigation).
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education:  Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Manufacturing, or related field required. Advanced degree preferred.

Experience:  At least 7 years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, and category management within a manufacturing environment. Demonstrated results/achievments in personal procurement requried. Leadership or people management experience preferred. Supplier management experience preferred.

Technology Skills:  Expert-level proficiency with PowerBI and Microsoft Office applications is required, including but not limited to Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Certificates & Licenses:  Supply Chain Management (e.g., CPSM, CSCP) preferred.

  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy to identify discrepancies or missing information.
  • Ability to work independently, think critically and problem solve and drive items to closure in a proactive manner.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of sustainable procurement practices and industry regulations.
