Luminator is a leading innovator in the design and manufacturing of communications and lighting products for more than 90 years in public transport transit industry. We are continuing to build our team by adding a Frontend Software Engineer to our Software Development team in Baindt.

Summary:

Seeking experienced Fullstack Software Engineer for design, develop, delivery and support of our software suite for to the public transport industry (bus and rail).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Developing front end website applications.
  • Developing back end website applications.
  • Ensuring cross-platform optimizations
  • Maintain quality and ensure responsiveness of applications.
  • Seeing through a project from conception to finished product.
  • Designing and developing APIs.
  • Meeting both technical and consumer needs.
  • Staying abreast of developments in web applications and programming languages
  • Create documentation while educating others.

Preferred Experience:

  • Proficiency with fundamental front end languages such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
  • Web server technologies like Node.js, J2EE, Apache, Nginx etc.
  • Web Scalability - Highly available architectures - load balancing, scale out
  • Experience implementing testing platforms and unit tests
  • Experience with Event Driven architecture using Kafka or MQTT
  • Experience with Linux as development and hosting environment
  • Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins) and deployment strategies
  • FE testing tools like Cypress
  • Experience with design and construction of REST API
  • Code Quality, Testing, Resiliency Patterns, Observability (Monitoring, Tracing, Logging, Alerting)
  • Source control with Git, and code hosts such as Github
  • Knowledge Azure Cloud
  • Knowledge of containerization with Docker and Kubernetes is a plus
  • Understanding of Cloud Native applications and fundamentals around building them.
  • Security-focused mindset, in addition to experience with security-oriented tooling, threat modeling, etc.
  • Participated in the Scrum based Agile development methodology

About you

  • 4-5 yrs. of Proven experience as a full stack developer or similar role
  • 3+ yrs. of experience or equivalent skills with front end frameworks such as Angular
  • 3+ yrs. of experience or equivalent skills with server side languages and frameworks such as Java and SpringBoot
  • 3+ yrs. of experience or equivalent skills with RDBMS such as MySQL or PostgreSQL
  • Willing and eager to learn new things to improve yourself and the team
  • A proactive person with “Hands On” attitude who identifies, plans and executes what needs to be improved
  • A strong eye for details
  • Team player with good social and communication skills
  • German and English skills mandatory
