Luminator is seeking a Materials Planner to join our team at our Plano Texas headquarters. This role will be onsite Monday-Friday, local candidates.
As a Material Planner with Luminator, you will serve as a key Subject Matter Expert responsible for coordinating production schedules and purchase orders to support operational efficiency and customer commitments. In this role, you will proactively manage and adjust production plans in response to design changes, labor or material constraints, backlogs, and other business needs while partnering closely with management, marketing, sales, production, and engineering teams to ensure seamless execution.
Essential Functions:
Revise production schedules when required due to design changes, labor or material changes, backlogs, or other interruptions in collaboration with management, marketing, sales, production, or engineering.
- Analyze sales data to determine which products will be in demand in the future, based on factors such as future projects, product changes and trends in consumer behavior.
- Arrange for delivery, assembly, or distribution of supplies or parts to expedite flow of materials while adhering to production deadlines.
- Develop demand forecasts (operational forecasts) at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons as part of a demand planning function.
- Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast result.
- Coordinate cross-functional research activities to reconcile significant variances and refine the forecast model to reflect updated sales and marketing assumptions.
- Interact with sales, marketing, and customer finance to understand demand forecast drivers.
- Utilize a collaborative and consensus approach by working with Sales, Marketing and Customer Finance to obtain and ensure that current and accurate information is used for demand forecasts.
- Use and maintain the Demand Planning software as the primary forecasting system tool.
- Provide input to the Supply Planning organization in developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs.
- Closely coordinate and communicate customer action plans with supply planning.

- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- BA or advanced degree strongly preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in planning or supply chain management. Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning experience
- Technical and business knowledge to include financial modeling and analysis using Microsoft Excel; proficiency with other Microsoft Office applications is also required, including but not limited to Word and PowerPoint.
- Prior experience with ERP environments and planning in database tools required.
- Syteline ERP experience highly preferred. Candidates with this knowledge & experience will be given priority consideration.
Goal-oriented and possesses the ability to prioritize on a consistent basis in an ever-changing environment. Excellent analytical, negotiation, organization and presentation skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills; experience in effectively communicating key data, including presentations to senior management, Board members, Committee members or other outside partners.
